Dogs in Utes
I must say that I am becoming very alarmed at the number of dog owners who own a Ute and let their dogs ride in the back, in the open tray area. Even though some owners tie their dogs up in the back of the Ute, others let their dogs roam free in the tray. Do they realise that they are putting their lovely dogs at risk of death or injury? All a dog has to do is see something, jump out of the Ute into crowded traffic and be killed; if the animal is tied up, try to jump out of the Ute and break its neck because the dog couldn't get to the ground or back onto the vehicle tray.
What is so hard about putting the dog inside the Ute with you? I think there used to be, and maybe still is, a law against this kind of behaviour. If there is, the Police or the RSPCA do not seem to care, which upsets me greatly as the RSPCA usually do a great job in protecting and looking after animals. I must see if I can find an e-mail address for them later and e-mail them asking them their views on this matter, if they answer back I will be sure to post the answer here for all to see.
Anyway, enough of my thoughts for now on this subject, but please let me know what you think of this.
